The new shipment came for the 2007 Rockin Sock Club. As always I checked a spoiler and I wont lie…. I hated it when I first saw it. It really is a pattern AND yarn that you have to see in person to appreciate. That and the way Tina explains her color choices in the Dyers notes.
The yarn is really pretty, probably not a color I would ever buy for myself.(which is the whole point of the club)
The pattern is beautiful,It’s also written by the wonderful Harlot.
I tried to take a pic to best represent the colors.
Thankfully after a few days of rain and cold it’s nice enough to get an outside pic.

Over all this is a super cute fast knit. I’d absolutely knit them again. I would still like to make them cutsey, with a flower and hat…ect. Naomi wants them plan…so plain they are.
I’m still trying to decide if I should felt them.
First let me thank you for the comments on George.

To get my mind off things I returned to the Leaf Lace Shawl that I had started a few weeks ago on a whim. Darnit! I was going to learn to knit lace.So cast on I did.
I sat here tonight knitting away thinking how lovely it was turning out…especially since I was using my recycled yarn. So I thought…what the heck..I’ll just pin it out to see my progress and lookie what I found..

I guess as with any beginner there’s going to be errors. I REALLY don’t want to rip it all out. Hubbs took a look and told me that had I not pointed it out he would have never noticed…but I DO see it and I DO notice it. I’m not the perfectionist that some knitters are,but I’m wondering is this going to throw off the whole pattern? Am I going to have a shawl with one side that is noticeably off? Would you leave it? Honestly.
I only have 5 more repeats to go….I could always just knit it and love it for the first shawl it is…mistakes and all.

Before I get into knitting I just wanted to share something that I think you might enjoy!

The BEST Dark Chocolate that I have ever had. Even Better, you can get it at Target. Less than $5 USD
So.Good You must try it.
On to knitting
My friend is expecting a baby in January and shes the “not so knitty mama” and prefers that I not knit her sweaters. I’m ok with that,I’m glad she was honest about it. So, as I said in an earlier post I purchased the UT OH pattern from the Mochimochi blog.
I really think they are going to turn out just perfect! I have two rings knit and I’m working on the third. I’m not so sure how many I should make. She may not even like them at all! I’ve been thinking of ways to make the ut-ohs more interesting. Like, making one a girl, the other a boy. One with a hat,the other with a bow? Adding crinkly paper or a squeaker inside? How cute is that?

I’ll have to see what I can come up with. I have also decided that I’m going to knit her some Saartjie booties. Hopefully, since these things aren’t sweaters,it will be all good
As for other knits I started a Top Down Raglan Sweater for my son. I call it the BLOB.

It’s being knit with Caron Simply Soft, because he asked for it. I’m totally winging this pattern based on a little reading I did on percentages in Knitting without Tears. It’s going good so far. It’s keeping me busy while I wait for my Knitpicks package to get here with my CPH yarn.(more about that later)
So will anyone be going to the Kentucky Woolfest this weekend? I wanted to go last year but I missed out. On the commercials they show a man shearing a sheep but on the webpage I don’t see anything about being able to buy the wool. I may just have to pack up the crew and head out to see whats up. If you have ever been there before drop me a comment or email zenmamablue at yahoo dot com and save me some gas if it’s just crafts.I would love to buy a new spindle there if they have them.
